| The Palms Hotel is a well run hotel in one of the best positions in Torquay, opposite the lovely Torwood gardens. Approximately 300 yards from the harbour, beach, shops and entertainment. Access StatementThe hotel is situated at the edge of the town centre, approximately 400 metres up a hill with a gradient of more than 1:20.The front entrance to the hotel is up winding steps of varying height and treads length from the pavement, it is well lit at night until midnight and the front covered porch is well lit until 11.00 pm.A door bell is on the main entrance, in the porch and by reception.The bedrooms are all located on the two upper floors, no lift is available.There are two flights of stairs between each floor. Thirteen steps and four steps to the first floor, and an extra ten steps and five steps to the second floor. A handrail is situated on the left of both the large flight of steps and on the short top flight of steps.Corridors are well lit at all times.Emergency exits are located up the first and third flight of stairs, both lead out to back stairways.The back parking area has two small spaces on a slope of less than 1:20, there are steps of varying height and treads length down to the front entrance.Finally please note there is now a œ1.50 charge for all Credit Card transactions. |
