We try to create a relaxed and friendly atmosphere where guests feel at home. Many rooms have been upgraded recently and we have tried to avoid a corporate, clinical style by ensuring each of our 10 bedrooms are totally different from each other. Our regular guests all have their favourites and book them from one visit to the next!The recipient of a Silver Award from the Green Tourism Business Scheme and a 4 Rating from Visit Britain, at Mount Edgcombe we are keen to provide quality at a cost that is fair and value for money.We are committed to supporting local businesses and all of our meat, fish and vegetables are from quality suppliers.Youll be spoiled for choice with our Breakfast Menu - juices, smoothies, cereals, porridge, kippers, croissants - as well as a freshly cooked Full English - are all on offer.Our quality 4 Course Evening Meals keep many guests coming back to Mount Edgcombe year after year. We offer the best in traditional home cooking. Our starters are appetising and tasty - our fresh soup is always popular. Our main course dishes are varied but traditional and served with lots of fresh vegetables - all bought locally.Home baked puddings feature highly on our dessert menu - although lighter options and West Country Cheese and biscuits are always available too. We have a lovely lounge where guests can make themselves at home in the evenings - it has a large flat screen TV to watch favourite programmes or a DVD and we also have and a separate bar where you can round off the evening with your favourite tipple.The location of Mount Edgcombe is ideal. We are set well back from one of the main roads into Torquay - our frontageforms our large car park - so many guests park up their car and either walk or use the excellent public transport to get about during their stay with us.We are situated on a level, tree- lined avenue with the train station and the English Riviera Centre just a few minutes walk away, and a 15-minute walk will bring you to Castle Circus - the heart of Torquays shopping area. The nearby promenade provides a lovely stroll along the waters edge towards the harbour. |
